City Planners Invite You to Share Ideas on Possible Land Development Regulations
Hattiesburg-The City of Hattiesburg is rolling full steam ahead in its mission to significantly enhance the area’s prosperity and livability, and would love for you to come onboard. The City’s Urban Development Department invites residents to learn more about the Full Steam Ahead-Updating the City’s Land Development Code project during a series of meetings slated to begin Thursday, Oct. 11 through Saturday, Oct. 13.
Adopted in December 2008, the City’s 2008-2028 Comprehensive Plan seeks to improve the area through mixed-use development, the addition of biking and pedestrian friendly streets, and the reduction of visual clutter.
“A comprehensive update or rewrite of the Land Development Code only comes around every 20 years or so,” said Urban Development Director Pattie Brantley. “Today’s citizens have the unique opportunity to provide input into the future land development regulations for their neighborhoods, business corridors and overall community.”
